Natural Farming

ZBNF is a form of sustainable natural farming that employs principles of nature, science, spirituality and non-violence that was started by Shri Subhash Palekar after extensive research in traditional farming practices. Shri Subhash Palekar's teachings are being practiced by lakhs of farmers all over India to produce toxin-free food and reap healthy and sustained yields.

Shri Subhash Palekar has been conferred the Padmashri for his life-long contribution to the field of natural farming and conservation of the environment. His method of farming employs locally available resources and in particular the Indian breed cow. When followed methodically, this system results in a low cost means of farming, hence the name "Zero Budget Natural Farming". Thereby, freeing the farmer from the viscous circle of debt and hence freeing the farmer from the trap of suicide.
